Donating to Baby Give Back
We have recently made some changes to the items we can accept. You can read more about this below.
You can drop off to our warehouse at 10/15 John Duncan Crt, Varsity Lakes. Click here to find out about other drop off locations.
We are open Monday to Friday 9am - 4pm (Tuesdays until 7:30pm, excludes school holidays).
At Baby Give Back our mission is to give children a safe start in life by providing essential safety and hygiene items to vulnerable families in partnership with their caseworkers. We are focused on reaching as many children as we can and to do this we need to make some changes going forward.
We rely on donations of baby and children’s items from wonderful supporters and local families in our community and we have always tried to make it as easy as possible for you to donate to Baby Give Back.
To ensure that we can reach as many vulnerable children as possible, we need to refine the items that we can accept into our warehouse. This means that we won’t be taking everything that we have previously accepted.
We know that it is convenient to be able to do a big clean out and drop everything off to us. However, accepting items that are not core essentials for the families we support takes resources in our warehouse and valuable volunteer time that needs to be dedicated to basic essentials.
As we have grown, we have learnt a lot about what items are most essential to children’s safety and development, how to best support vulnerable children and their families and the resources it takes to divert unsuitable items.
In consultation with our large network of caseworkers, social workers and family support agencies, vulnerable families and other charities, we have developed a refined list of items we can accept.
The donations we can accept at Baby Give Back are:
- Bassinets (with 4 mesh sides)
- Cots
- Prams
- Capsules, reversible and forward facing car seats
- Clothing from newborn to size 5 (in great condition and freshly washed)
- Linen for cots and bassinets and blankets
- Baby carriers
- Breast pumps (with all parts and clean)
- High chairs (moulded plastic ones only)
- New bottles
- Nappies
- Formula (unopened and in date)
- Maternity Pads
- Nursing Pads
- Baby Wipes
- Baby Toiletries (body wash, shampoo, moisturiser, nappy cream etc)
- Handmade Items
All of the items that we will no longer be accepting can be passed on in the community, through marketplaces for free or to op shops or other charities. We encourage you to reuse, recycle and redistribute or repurpose items as much as you are able to.
Our commitment is to supporting vulnerable families to give their children a safe start in life and to help more children, we need to focus on the most essential items that cannot be accessed elsewhere.
Thank you for your continued support. We can’t do this without you.
What can I do with other items?
