Our Story
Baby Give Back is a Queensland charity with a mission to give children an equal start in life by providing material basics (like clothing and nappies) to vulnerable families. We leverage the power of community donations and volunteers to create impact in partnership with social service agencies and health networks working with families in need.
The idea came to life when our founder Carly wished to pass on her gently used baby items after completing her family. Realising how lucky she was to be able to provide everything her children needed for the best start in life, Carly became passionate about helping families who weren’t as lucky as hers and recreating a village in her community. Inspired by St Kilda Mums, Carly began collecting donations and connecting with agencies, quickly transforming her garage into a makeshift storage space for the growing donations.
With the need in the community ever increasing, Baby Give Back expanded, moving to a warehouse in Burleigh Heads in 2018, and later to a larger facility in Varsity Lakes in 2020.
From 2025, our focus is on expanding our clothing program and ensuring it is accessible to every Queensland child in need.
Powered by an army of incredible people who share our vision, our volunteers are the heart of what we do. On any given day, our warehouse is bustling with the chatter and energy that these incredible people bring to our community. With the courage to do whatever it takes to achieve our mission and the backing of our incredible community, Baby Give Back provides judgment free support to thousands of babies and children each year.
The Problem
For vulnerable families, purchasing clothing and other essentials for their young children aged 0–5 can place a heavy strain on already stretched budgets. The first 2,000 days -from conception to school age - are critical for a child’s development. During this time, their experiences shape long-term physical, mental and social outcomes.
Parents must make sure their children are dressed before they can even think about other essentials. When we can step in and help meet this need, families are able to redirect their limited income towards food, rent, medication and keeping their children safe. By redirecting quality pre-loved clothing from Australia’s textile waste, we help children feel safe, warm and included, while easing the pressure on families and giving every baby and child a brighter start in life.

Every child needs clothing and every parent deserves the relief of knowing this need is met. When the basics are taken care of, vulnerable families can focus on other essentials like food, shelter and stability.
With every item passed on, we ease the weight of worry, lighten the load and restore dignity and self-worth. With every act of kindness, families have a real chance at breaking cycles of disadvantage and building a better life.
