Circular Communities

We have changed how we do things.

We have refined our focus to reach more children in need. To do this, we are now only accepting and redistributing quality clothing and essential items like nappies and wipes that make the greatest impact. Clothing is a basic human right, and by prioritising it, we can provide immediate relief to families and scale our support across Queensland.

Managing large items has become costly and unsustainable, and shifting our focus allows us to help more children while staying ready to respond to natural disasters. We’re grateful for your understanding and continued support in making this possible—together, we can ensure every child has access to the clothing they need to live, play and learn.

What is a Circular Community?

A circular community is people coming together to reduce waste by promoting the reuse, recycling and redistribution of resources within the community. The focus is on keeping materials in use and circulated to those in need for as long as possible to minimise waste. Baby Give Back believe that empowering communities to share and distribute these items directly with each other is the most sustainable long-term solution for both families and the environment.

Ways to pass on items

The best way to pass items on is directly back into your community to families who need them. We recommend doing this via Facebook Marketplace or local Facebook groups.

Before passing on an item to someone in need, it’s important to ensure that it is in a good, clean, usable and safe condition. This not only shows respect for the recipient but also helps make sure the item is safe and ready for its next home.

Safety Checks for Donated Items

This guide will help you check the safety of your items before passing them on or using them.

Some things broken or loved a little to hard?

Please recycle or dispose of items that are not in a usable and clean condition so that Op Shops and other charities can focus their resources where needed.
