Leading with heart, vision and courage

We are so proud to share that Baby Give Back’s very own Chief Operating Officer, Shannon Calderoni, has been recognised as a finalist in the Westfield Local Heroes. Her win came with a $5,000 grant to support our work, helping little ones in need.

Her nomination came about from team member, Zali, who recognised Shannon for her leadership, compassion and tireless commitment to helping families and the community thrive. As Zali beautifully put it, “She shows up every day to serve our community, leading with care and compassion.”

This accolade couldn’t be more fitting. Shannon’s drive to create a better future is at the core of what we stand for at Baby Give Back.

“I found Baby Give Back when I was on maternity leave and instantly fell in love with the cause,” says Shannon. “I passionately believe that every child deserves an equal start in life.” Shannon’s impact in her pivotal role of COO is a testament to her deep sense of purpose and commitment to community and our planet. 

She’s the kind of leader who’s equally comfortable greeting donors at the door, developing new partnerships to support workers on the ground or rolling up her sleeves in the warehouse to pack orders. Her approach is grounded in compassion, care and connection, aligned with the values that drive Baby Give Back’s mission.

Beyond meeting immediate need, Shannon has also been a driving force behind our commitment to sustainability. “By empowering our community to participate in a circular economy, we can make a positive contribution to reducing childhood poverty and textile waste.” 

We’ve already supported nearly 10,000 children and babies across Queensland and Northern New South Wales this year, helping vulnerable families with basic essentials so they can focus on other vital needs like food, rent and medical expenses.

We’re deeply grateful to Westfield Helensvale, who are currently running a collection drive for Baby Give Back to help us continue this life-changing work in the community.
